Paris Disneyland: Childhood dreams must come true!

Remember your childhood: For most of us, overseas amusement parks were an unattainable dream. To be sure: each broadcast of Disney cartoons on TV became a courtyard sensation and a topic for many hours of discussion! Therefore, many years ago I firmly decided: my child (who was then still in the project) will see Disneyland, no matter what it costs me!

And so, it happened: this summer my six-year-old daughter (and I at the same time) spent three amazing days in company with Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, the team of Chip and Dale and other legendary cartoon characters. And, of course, we rolled out on stunning attractions, took part in interactive shows and bought all kinds of souvenirs!

Looking ahead, I will say: if there is an opportunity to spend at Disneyland at least a few hours, grab your luck by the tail. Even an adult has enough impressions for years to come, and what can we say about a child? But it is better to go to this fabulous country for a few days, so as not to regret the missed opportunities later. How to speak, let’s go the limit – like Ulyana and I!

Park Hotels

Disneyland is grandiose in every way: both in the scale of the experience and in the area. During the day of entertainment, you get tired so much that you want to collapse right in place – so the legs buzz. Therefore, I want to start with the most important thing – a hotel where you can surrender to the arms of relaxation and slowly sort out the impressions of the day in memory.

The most famous of the park’s hotels is the five-star Disneyland, located right in the complex. Yes, yes, you were not mistaken: the same, pink, against the background of which everyone is photographed. Unfortunately, during our visit, this fabulous cartoon castle was under reconstruction, but next time (and it will definitely be!) We will stay there – why we should go far?

We lived in the huge New Port bay, although located relatively far from the attractions, but incredibly attractive. You’d see him shine his lights in the evenings! And how the interiors are decorated – naturally, in Disney style! Nice bonus: two pools (indoor and outdoor) where you can cool relax in the evening after an enchanting but exhausting day.

By the way, when checking in, we were immediately handed a branded Disney notebook with a handle. Favorite cartoon characters walk around the park, communicate and take pictures with guests – well, how not to take an autograph from them? For example, we were hunting for the autograph of Guffy’s cheerful duralei. We managed to take a picture with him, but it was not possible to slip the notebook in time. Well, nothing, next time!

However, I was distracted – a little more information about hotels. In my opinion, the most noteworthy are:

• Disney’s Hotel New York. A cool new four-star art hotel with an indoor pool and dazzling lake views. That’s who will especially like it there – it’s loyal fans of Marvel heroes.
• Disney’s Sequoia Lodge. Modest, but stunningly cozy “three.” The hotel is amazingly inscribed in the natural landscape, and the interiors have less Disney, but more chalet – natural stone, wood and all.
• Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne. A very nice hotel, undeservedly ignored by tourists from the post-Soviet space. Remember the cult cartoon Toy Story? So: you will live in its atmosphere!

All these hotels are located within walking distance of the attractions. But knocking down your legs is absolutely not necessary: you can get to the epicenter of entertainment on a regular shuttle. Travel time – 10-12 minutes.

Restaurants

Restaurants in the park are not just a lot, but a lot – and everyone with a unique theme and a corresponding atmosphere. It is better to book places in them in advance, otherwise you cannot get anywhere – the flow of visitors is so large. For example, we did not do this, and had to be content with the only institution – Jack Sparrow’s restaurant.

The place is very colorful, located right on the attraction “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Quite decent Caribbean cuisine pleased, but this is not the main thing. The feature of the institution is the atmosphere: thoughtful surroundings, sailing past boats with tourists and, of course, numerous pirates led by Jack Sparrow!

Next time, we will definitely visit other Disneyland restaurants. Walt’s is greatly praised – an American Restaurant – American restaurant stylized as a Walt Disney house, a rather pretentious California Grill, Cape Cod, where amazing seafood dishes are prepared.

For children and especially rushed adults, Cowboy Cookout Barbecue is recommended – fast food with unrealistically huge portions and quite sane (especially by the standards of Disneyland) prices. And with the kids, it is better to go to Cafe Mickey, replete with heroes of their favorite cartoons wandering between tables.

Let’s summarize: you can quickly snack on the go at almost every corner. But if you don’t want to line huge queues, book a table in advance. Yes, and if you want to save money, take water with you: you will definitely want to drink more than once, and a bottle of life-giving moisture in the park will cost at least 3.5 euros.

Parks and attractions

Disney Entertainment Complex occupies a grandiose territory and consists of two parks plus all kinds of additional objects (for example, Disney Village, where you can buy souvenirs and have great fun with the baby).

So, the first park is actually the famous Disneyland, which recently celebrated its thirtieth anniversary. There is the castle of Sleeping Beauty, many venues where enchanting shows are held almost in non-stop mode, and many other interesting entertainments for children.

But we were more impressed with Walt Disney Studios Park, built ten years later. The most adrenaline rides are located there, so prepare for a dizzying extreme!

Our favourite rides

The most impressive is, of course, the famous The Hollywood Tower Hotel, which is otherwise like a “horror hotel” and cannot be called. Hair rises on end throughout the body on the way to the main frightening “raisins” – a falling elevator. And then… To be honest, I’m even scared to remember, but I’ll try it for you.

Imagine: You walk through nightmarish corridors, climb to 12th-floor heights, walk into a cabin and buckle up. Suddenly the light goes out and free fall begins! The elevator falls in stages, several times: during pauses, you can catch your breath and even admire the dizzying views that open up from a height. Then fall again – and deafening screams, cold sweat and rapidly graying hair…

In a word, I probably won’t go to this nightmare elevator anymore. Although psychologists recommend such extreme entertainment as an effective method of relieving stress. Yes, here you will definitely forget about all the stresses completely – as they say, fight fire with fire!

And what about the crazy train in the Wild West mine? It seems that nothing portends stunning (except, perhaps, the expressions of the faces of people who have already rolled on this rabid locomotive). The engine dives deep into the tunnel, passes underground and the lake, and finally emerges on an island surrounded by water!

Another attraction that left us with indelible impressions and a throat hoarse from enthusiastic screams is called “Ratatouille.” Did you watch the cartoon of the same name? So: here you are completely immersed in his universe: together with the rat Remy, you soak up from angry cooks, arrange a fun mess in the kitchen, celebrate a holiday in honor of the victory over evil – in a word, you close it with might and main.

Technically, “Ratatouille” is the latest multi-touch attraction, according to internal sensations – Magic, which has become real thanks to revolutionary technologies. The immersion effect, one might say, is absolute!

By the way, if you like to immerse yourself in the universes of cartoons, do not pass by the famous “Mickey Theater.” This is an amazing show that you get involved in completely, empathizing with everything that happens. And how can it be otherwise, if the floor vibrates, the wind blows, the rain drips – and everything is synchronous with what is happening on the screen!

The main thing in all the attractions of Disney Park is the effect of surprise, brought to perfection. You never know what awaits you in the next second – therefore, you never cease to be surprised and delighted. Well, how can something visually baby, resembling a whimsical group of balls with cars, turn out to be a fantastic space train, eh?

Life hacks for tourists

For many tourists, Disneyland is associated with huge queues and impressive prices. So I want to give you a couple of tips on how to have the most fun, and even save a little.

There is such a convenient thing, fast track. It gives the right of extraordinary passage to rides. If we take to the maximum, that is, fast track for the whole day in both parks, then a decent amount of 280 euros per person is obtained. Often this is not too necessary.

So, there is a mobile application called Disneyland. There you can instantly order a fast track for a specific attraction: approach it, see an impressive queue, go to the application – and voila, you already close, leaving behind everyone who came much earlier!

By the way, the same application can be used to book a table in any of dozens of local cafes and restaurants. I recommend as soon as you know the dates of the trip, plan and book lunches and dinners for all time. Otherwise, then you will have to be content with what is left, stand in grandiose queues or eat somewhere else.

Yes, in addition to the usual queue and premium acces (for those who paid for quick passes), there is a single entry. This is a queue for those who have come to entertain in proud solitude – they pass faster. In single entry, you can become children from the age of 7. The main thing is to keep the “poker face” and intensively pretend that you are not together.
