Summer 2022: Cyprus and Xenion again!

BLOG

So another summer has passed, which clearly cannot be called easy for the tourism industry. Previously, we were forced to break through the anti-shock barriers, this season – you know what. But this is not a reason to leave children without a cool vacation in Cyprus, seasoned with a high-quality language program!

Without false modesty, I will say: yes, it was difficult. But for this we work to give rest and study abroad, despite the growing problems around us!

As the epicenter of children’s recreation, we again chose the Xenion language camp, which we went to last year. Firstly, this is the highest quality of all available language programs, and secondly, Cyprus in the summer is as attractive as possible in terms of recreation, excursion and wellness. I think getting there is just fabulous luck. Well, our connections, multiplied by experience, of course!

Ivan:

Hello! Overall, I enjoyed the trip. Although I have already been to this camp, every time you discover something new for yourself. There were interesting tours of historical sites, walks in night cities and watching movies in English, as well as a trip to the most popular water park in Cyprus. Teachers are all very kind, responsive and always ready to help if any problems arise. Interesting games and exercise in lessons, all in a friendly atmosphere. If there is an opportunity, I would like to go there again!

Difficulties and solutions

Yes, this year turned out to be even more difficult than the previous one. A host of groups we planned to take to the UK took the biggest blow. The British consulate has now been reviewing the documents for at least four months – and this is in the best possible situation.

In connection with the latest events, Schengen visas have risen in price, and the demand for them has increased significantly. In addition, there were problems with air traffic with Moscow, and Kyiv, through which we flew to Cyprus last season, for obvious reasons, was not considered at all. In a word, “fun.”

When organizing the trip, we had to solve a lot of problems related to:

  • Rescheduling the route through Vilnius. We considered this option as optimal – and were not mistaken.
  • Visa processing. Multiple schengen for children cost us many times more than in previous seasons, and the number of nerve cells spent cannot be calculated at all.
  • Ticket purchases. Try to buy tickets when it is generally impossible to pay with Belarusian cards – only multi-moves, only hardcore!
  • Border crossing. Have you seen the current queues at the border? But we were carrying teenagers who really do not like to wait.

When the group finally formed, we applied for visas and froze in anticipation. Everything was ready and planned: only 170 km on a comfortable bus, 3 hours of flight in a cool company, a short transfer – and here they are, Cyprus, Xenion and the sea.

But, as they say, it was smooth on paper, but they forgot about ravines. Visas were issued much later than we planned – we had to be pretty nervous. And then some more parents decided to take the children to the airport on their own – the group cracked at the seams.

But we coped: the group flew away in an organized manner, had a cool rest, gaining strength and inspiration for the upcoming school year, and then returned home without any problems. In a word, everything worked out for us, no matter what it costs!

Martin:

It was my first trip abroad to camp. I really liked the camp, I returned inspired and with a great desire to go to study at a foreign university. I knew many of the guys in my group earlier, but I also gained new acquaintances. It was not difficult to adapt, since there was immediately an interesting and pleasant company, interesting classes and excellent excursions. I had a great time! Next year I would love to go again.

Xenion as it is

Xenion is a language camp located in the picturesque town of Paralimini (literally 40 minutes from Larnaca Airport). The children have at their disposal comfortable rooms for three guests, a cool audience, computer classes, sports grounds, a swimming pool, and, of course, the azure Mediterranean Sea, splashing almost at the doorstep.

As mentioned above, Xenion offers a very high-quality language program designed for 20 hours of intensive but incredibly interesting classes a week. In addition, the guys communicate in English with others constantly, that is, there is an absolute immersion in the language environment. Knowledge is absorbed unobtrusively, but firmly!

By the way, an important point: at the end of the training course, the guys received A-level certificates. And this is already a significant step towards entering a foreign university.

After classes, the most pleasant thing began – rest, and no less intense than study. The excursion in the camp is beyond praise: every day – a trip to a new beach, a visit to the water park, interesting walks around the city. In a word, there was no time to miss, and I didn’t want to!

Food deserves separate praise. The menu is very diverse, and it corresponds to the ideas of the guys about delicious (and parents – about healthy) food: lasagne, pasta, rolls with chicken, hummus, and so on. The only thing the guys asked for following this trip was more sweets.

Vera:

In the camp, I really liked it. The school was deliciously fed and the lessons were interesting. Most of all I enjoyed going to the beach and to the city. I would like desserts to appear on the menu next year.:)

Our youths returned home sunbathed, inspired, overwhelmed with experience and chatting animatedly in English. A lot of guys are going to go to Xenion next summer as well. And we believe that this is the highest assessment of the work of the Royal Sky Group team, exhibited by the most impartial and incorruptible referees – children and their parents!
