JAPANESE
Shinji by Kanesaka – 1 Michelin Star
This menu-less, omakase restaurant has caused quite a stir in Singapore. It’s the eponymous brainchild of renowned Tokyo chef Shinji Kanesaka. In Singapore, a team of Japanese chefs work under the watchful eye of master chef Koichiro Oshino, who has been with Kanesaka for more than 20 years. They operate from behind a wooden counter carved in a single piece from a 220-year-old hinoki or Japanese Cypress tree, which is as stunning as the food the team prepares. Only fish and seafood is served, but not just sushi and sashimi (though sushi is the star of the show) – there are plenty of grilled dishes on offer here, too.

Jungle
Ann-Siang Hill’s newest resident, Jungle, fits right into the trendy enclave. If you’ve been to any of Bangkok’s divery late-night watering holes, you’ll notice some similarities at this Thai grill and bar. All eyes are on the open-fire kitchen serving up fire-kissed dishes, while all ears will be tuned into classic funk and soul beats in the background.
The snappy one-pager of a menu means the kitchen’s pretty confident with what they’ve got, and you’ll find grilled dishes like the Southern style charcoal grilles chicken and lamb skewers taking centerstage. The former is the restaurant’s version of the traditional gai golae, while the skewers are slow-cooked over flames and generously topped with homemade red curry. Apart from the promising grill section, crowds also love the Southern crab yellow curry with wild rice shoots, as well as the singular sweet dish on the menu – grilled banana cake dizzled with gula melaka caramel and topped with coconut ice cream.

ZEN (Swedish Fine Dining) — 3 Michelin Stars
The key here is experience. From the moment you step in, you’re treated like both VIP and good friend in a totally inclusive, unintimidating setting. You’re served pre-dinner drinks and snacks in the living room, proceed to the counterstyle dining room for the meal, and then end off with dessert either on the roof terrace (when weather permits) or back in the cozy living room in front of the fireplace. It’s a unique experience that plays as big a role as the food. Maybe they sprinkled some mood-altering powder into our welcome juice of pristine tomato juice with frozen plum ice, but it feels like you’ve left Singapore and entered a Nordic parallel universe.

With a hefty culinary heritage in his suitcase, founder Costas Spiliadis crossed the Atlantic from Greece to America to pursue his education. In 1979, he opened the first Milos in Montreal, showing the world the beauty of Greek cuisine as it knows today.
Experience the vibrant spirit of Greek hospitality as a Captain leads you through the signature open seafood market, featuring a meticulously curated variety of fish and seafood flown in from the azure waters of the Mediterranean.
Signatures include Milos Special, a tower of crispy zucchini and eggplant, Tomato Salad, Whole Fish Baked in Sea
Salt, Lobster Pasta Athenian-Style, and Mediterranean Octopus that is chargrilled to perfection. Pair them with the largest selection of Greek wines in Singapore, featuring indigenous grape varieties sourced from the volcanic terroir of Santorini to the mountainous slopes of the Peloponnese. Other highlights like Avgotaraho, an ancient Greek delicacy dating back to the Byzantine era, Whole Fish Sashimi, and Greek Ceviche, a classic ceviche with a Mediterranean twist, are perfect for savouring the natural flavours of seafood.
Feel the warmth of African hospitality at Kafe Utu. Experience three different concepts under one roof: have a cup of Ubuntu blend coffee with special-grade single-origin coffees sourced from Uganda, Brazil and Mexico at the Kafe; gather the friends for a fun get-together at the lounge or bar terrace; or have an intimate meal at the nook. Must-try dishes include Swahili fish curry, lamu stingray stew and smokey cassava leaf with marinated chicken thigh.
